Occupational Therapists specialise in the assessment and treatment of a range of motor, developmental and sensory difficulties.

At Annie's Centre, Occupational Therapy services address the following issues:

  • Handwriting skills
    (e.g. pencil grip, legibility, pressure, content)
  • Drawing skills (e.g. shapes and representational pictures)
  • Play skills (e.g. imaginative play)
  • Fine motor skills (e.g. cutting and pasting)
  • Gross motor skills (e.g. ball catching, balance)
  • Visual learning strategies (e.g. copying from the board)
  • Attention and concentration (e.g. for tabletop tasks and activities)
  • Planning and organisation (e.g. of school desk and belongings)
  • Self care skills (e.g. dressing, using cutlery)
  • Self esteem and confidence
  • Special provisions for exams
  • Sensory integration/ sensory processing difficulties

Annie's Centre also provides school visits for Occupational Therapy. Please contact the Centre to enquire about arranging at-school Occupational Therapy for your child.

Please note that referrals for Occupational Therapy are only necessary if associated with the GP Allied Health, Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) Plan. This is a referral from a GP to our Occupational Therapist for up to 5 sessions to support a significant disability. For more information about the EPC plan please click here.
